Sheffield Based Dance Classes

Why we created Dance & Shine

Dance & Shine was created from a place close to our hearts. Our teacher, Lucy, has grown up alongside her brother, who has Down syndrome, and has seen first-hand the joy, confidence and connection that the right opportunities can bring.

We know that finding inclusive activities can sometimes be challenging, and we wanted to create a space where children with Down syndrome feel welcomed, celebrated and free to express themselves through dance.

Dance & Shine isn't about being the best dancer. It's about building confidence, creating friendships, staying active and most importantly, having fun in a supportive environment where every child can shine.

More than dance. A place to build confidence, friendships and a legacy.

Not at all! Dance & Shine is open to children of all abilities and experience levels.

Can a parent or carer stay during the class?

Yes. We welcome one parent or carer to attend the class alongside their child if they wish.

What Should my child wear?

Children should wear comfortable clothing that they can move freely in, along with clean trainers or suitable dance shoes.

What happens if my child becomes overwhelmed?

Every child is different, and we understand that some dancers may need extra time, reassurance or a short break.
